ISLAMABAD TO SKARDU FLIGHT (45 minutes) 2,230 m/7,316ft:

In the event that the weather is suitable you can get your day off to a good start by taking a beautiful flight from Islamabad to Skardu. You will be able to get a bird’s-eye view of the majestic Karakoram range, which is comprised of mountains such as k2 and Nanga Parbat. As soon as you get in Skardu, you should immediately meet up with the other members of your hiking group, and after that, you should take some time to explore this beautiful town. The fact that Skardu is the starting point for climbing and trekking to some of the highest mountains in the world makes it a paradise for those who are interested in climbing and trekking. Please note: Flights to and from Skardu only occur if the weather is clear. Skardu Airport is in a narrow valley, and the pilots need a clear view to land the plane. The weather in the mountains mostly stays clear, so flights rarely get cancelled. Skardu Airport was upgraded to international status and underwent a re-inauguration on December 2 2021 following extensive enhancements to transform it into a prominent tourism hub. The airport now facilitates direct flights from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Dubai. Since the upgrades, flight cancellations have significantly decreased and cancellation chances are currently very low.In case of flight cancellation you will travel on Karakorum Highway to Naran for a night stay and the next day continue to Skardu. Islamabad to Naran distance is 281 km a 9-hour drive. Naran to Skardu is a 10-hour drive on the Karakoram highway along the mighty Gilgit and Indus rivers. Traveling by road on the Karakoram Highway is as spectacular as taking a flight.

DRIVE TO ASKOLE, (141 km), 3,075 m/10,332ft, 6 HOURS DRIVE

We spend a relaxed day in Skardu to help with acclimatization. You may take a short trip to Satpara Lake, visit the beautiful Shigar Fort a 400-year-old fortress renovated into a heritage hotel or simply relax and breathe in the mountain air. This is also the day that we manage trekking permits, finalize logistics with porters, and prepare for departure. Our experts will double-check your equipment and assist with any last-minute changes.

Trek from Askole to Jhola (3,200m/ 10,500 ft ,5-8 hours)

The porters will load up for the trek ahead of Jhola after the completion of the necessary supply list and equipment. The valley is the gateway to the Biafo glacier that streams from Hispar La to Braldu for over fifty km. As the snout of the glacier is crossed, the participants will witness metamorphic rock walking. Korofon river would be an amazing spot for lunch. The route will take us to the Braldu and Domordo rivers. For the walk, the former path is not taken, and instead, a newer trail will lead us to go upstream where participants will bridge from across the river. The participants will go down to the edge of the Braldu river on the other side of the bridge and follow the river bank to reach the CAMP at Jhola.

TREK TO PAIJU, (21 km) 3,420 m/11,220ft, 6 HOURS TREK

You should get started on your journey to Paiju, which is a destination that is absolutely necessary for hikers in the region. As you make your way through the Braldu Gorge on the hike that is 21 kilometers long, you will get the opportunity to take in stunning views of the well-known Trango Towers and the Baltoro Glacier. Climbers and hikers have a tendency to congregate at Paiju, which is a lively base, in order to share their experiences through the medium of storytelling.

TREK TO KHOBURTSE, (15 km) 3,795 m/12,450ft, 7 HOURS TREK

You will continue your adventure through tough terrain until you reach the Khoburtse campsite, which is approximately 15 kilometers distant from where you are currently located. Due to the fact that it is adorned with spectacular views of granite spires like Uli Biaho and the Trango Towers, the path will undoubtedly be considered a paradise by those who are interested in trekking.

TREK TO URDUKAS, (6 km) 3,900 m/12,795ft, 4 HOURS TREK

During the course of your journey to Urdukas, which is six kilometers in length, you will come across a trek that is significantly shorter. The amazing views that this lovely campsite provides of Cathedral Peak and the mountains that are located in the surrounding area have earned it a lot of notoriety. From this vantage point, you may take in the beautiful view of the Karakoram Mountains.

ACCLIMATISATION & REST DAY AT URDUKAS

Give yourself a day to adjust to the variations in altitude without any interruptions. It is recommended that you go on small hikes around Urdukas on a regular basis in order to prepare your body for elevations that are higher. Because of the beautiful views of Broad Peak and Gasherbrum, this campground provides an opportunity for a day of rest and preparation that will be remembered for a very long time.

to Goro II (4,250m) - 7 hours

We return to the middle cold passage of the Baltoro Glacier. Today’s journey is strenuous, with crevasses and rough terrain to navigate. As we ascend, temperatures drop and the landscape gets more frigid. We cross under the enormous Gasherbrum IV and arrive at Goro II, a campground located on the glacier. Nights here are chilly yet spectacular, with stars reflecting off the ice and peaks sparkling in the moonlight.

TREK TO CONCORDIA, (12 km) 4,500m/14,763ft, 5 HOURS TREK

Today is one of the top highlights of your K2 base camp trek. Wake up early and Trek to Concordia. Concordia is known as the throne room of the mountain gods. Concordia is 4,500 meters above sea level, located at the junction of the upper Baltoro Glacier and Godwin-Austen Glacier. Famous alpinist and explorer Sir Martin Conway gave the name “Concordia to this place. Concordia is one of the most spectacular places on earth.All the Karakoram giants you have been looking at from a faraway are now right in front of you. You are surrounded by the mighty Gasherbrum II (8,035m/26,361ft), III (7,952m/26,089ft) & IV (7,925m/26,000ft), Mitre Peak, Chogolisa (7,665m/25,147ft), Broad Peak (8,047m/26,401ft), and visible for the first time, the second-highest mountain on the earth after Everest, the spectacular K2 (8,611m/28,251ft).Concordia has a much wider area, so there is plenty of space to set up your tent. This place can be windy in the evening, so wear many layers of clothes to keep yourself warm.Set up your camp at Concordia and spend a night in your sleeping bag with spectacular views, which you will not find anywhere else.

TREK TO K2 BASE CAMP, (11 km) 5,150 m/16,896ft, 7 HOURS TREK

On this Day GPS Data Return time K2 BC (5,155m) + Gilkey (5,230m)+ Broad Peak (4,844m): 10-12 hours Return time Broad BC (4,844m): 6-7 hours Today, there is an option to walk up the Godwin-Austen glacier to the Art Gilkey Memorial (an American geologist and mountaineer) immediately before K2 Base Camp. This is a long, yet amazing day. We will leave early in the morning, crossing the glaciers and following the thin track towards K2. As we follow the glacier towards K2, the peak appears to get bigger and greater. Broad Peak rises to our right, and after about three hours, we cross Broad Peak base camp. We normally stop here for lunch before continuing on with K2 towering over us as we approach closer. The Art Gilkey Memorial is located just before base camp, among the boulders and ice strewn landscape. A little scramble takes us to the location where those whose lives K2 claimed are remembered. Plaques and etched tin plates are affixed to a small rocky outcrop at the base of this massive mountain. There are excellent views of K2 immediately above us, and we may even see some climbing excursions. We spent the night in K2’s base camp.

Trek from Shahring - Gasherbrum I-II Base Camp 5150m

Trek from Gasherbrum I-II B.C – Concordia 4850m

We leave GI-GII base camp and traverse towards Gondogoro La. The portion is difficult with crevasses. Once on the Vigne Glacier it is a comparatively easy and gradual walk over snow and ice up to the camp. We will sleep early to wake up very early tomorrow

TREAK TO ALI CAMP (5,000m) 6 HOURS WALK

Depart from the main trail and head along the Upper Baltoro Glacier towards Chogolisa. After navigating moraine ridges, reach the Vigne Glacier, a relatively flat route with fewer crevasses. The trek concludes at Ali Camp, where you’ll prepare for crossing Gondogoro La by practicing rope and jumar techniques.

CROSS GONDOGORO LA TO KHUSPANG (5,600m) 10-11 HOURS WALK/CLIMB

Start trekking at 2 a.m. for the challenging Gondogoro La ascent. The starry night provides a magical atmosphere as you rope up for the glacier crossing. After a steep climb, reach the summit, offering panoramic views of K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I, and II. Descend to Khuspang for a well-deserved rest.

KHUSPANG TO SAICHO (3,350m) 6-7 HOURS WALK

Descend to the valley floor, passing yak pastures and lush landscapes. Saicho offers a change of scenery with greenery and oxygen-rich air. Enjoy views of Masherbrum and its cascading glaciers.

TREK TO HUSHE 2 HOURS, DRIVE TO SKARDU, 7-HOURS

A short trek brings you to Hushe Village, surrounded by traditional homes and scenic landscapes. From Hushe, drive along the Khaplu Valley and Indus River to Skardu. Arrive at the hotel for a well-earned shower and celebratory dinner.

Early in the morning we leave for Nanga parbat Base camp Via Deosai

We drive to Tarashing via the high plains of Deosai National Park, which reminded us of the Tibetan Plateau.

Arriving in Tarashing, we had a good view of Nanga Parbat – the 9th highest mountain in the world at 8,126m. Being this close up to Nanga Parbat was a sight to behold.

Hike to Nanga Parbat – Rupal Face – Herrligkoffer Base Camp

There are 3 base camps used for climbing Nanga Parbat – Rakhiot, Diamir and Herrligkoffer. We will also choose to trek to Herrligkoffer base camp (3,100m), which is also called Rupal Base Camp. Setting up camp under the Rupal face was a great way to complete the five base camps. The Rupal face of Nanga Parbat has the greatest vertical rise of 5,000m from base camp to the summit.
