The Bargancho Peak Expedition is an unforgettable mountaineering journey into the heart of Pakistan’s legendary Karakoram Mountains. Rising above 6,000 meters, Bargancho Peak provides climbers with the opportunity to experience high-altitude mountaineering while surrounded by some of the most spectacular mountain scenery on Earth.
Located in the remote Baltistan region, the expedition takes you through the dramatic landscapes of Skardu, alpine valleys, glaciers, and traditional mountain villages before reaching the base of the peak.
Unlike some of Pakistan’s extremely technical 7000m and 8000m mountains, Bargancho Peak offers a balanced climbing experience. It requires strong physical preparation, endurance, and basic mountaineering knowledge but remains an achievable goal for motivated climbers looking to progress into high-altitude expeditions.
During the climb, participants experience glacier crossings, snow-covered slopes, acclimatisation rotations, and summit preparation under the guidance of experienced climbing professionals.
The expedition is not only about reaching the summit. It is also about exploring the untouched beauty of Baltistan, experiencing local culture, and creating lifelong memories in one of the world’s greatest mountain environments.

Day 01: Arrival in Islamabad, Pakistan

Welcome to Pakistan! Upon arrival at Islamabad International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may visit some of Islamabad’s famous attractions, including Faisal Mosque, Pakistan Monument, or Daman-e-Koh. In the evening, you will meet your expedition leader for a detailed briefing covering the climbing itinerary, safety procedures, equipment inspection, permits, and preparations for the Bargancho Peak Expedition.

Day 02: Fly to Skardu or Drive via Karakoram Highway

Take an early morning flight to Skardu, weather permitting, and enjoy breathtaking aerial views of Nanga Parbat, Rakaposhi, and the mighty Karakoram Range. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and spend the afternoon exploring Skardu Bazaar or relaxing before the expedition begins.

Note: In case of flight cancellation due to weather, we will travel by road via the Karakoram Highway to Chilas and continue to Skardu the following day.
Day 03: Drive from Skardu to Arandu Village
- Altitude: Approximately 2,700 meters
- Driving Time: 6–7 Hours
- Weather: Cool mountain climate
After breakfast, we leave Skardu and travel by jeep through the spectacular valleys of Baltistan towards Arandu Village, the gateway to Bargancho Peak. The drive offers magnificent views of rivers, glaciers, and traditional Balti villages. Upon arrival, meet the porter team and complete the final preparations before beginning the trek.

Day 04: Trek from Arandu to Wakhot Camp

- Weather: Pleasant during the day, cool at night
Today the trekking adventure begins. Following mountain trails through alpine meadows, rocky paths, and glacial streams, we gradually ascend towards Wakhot Camp. The route offers spectacular scenery and excellent opportunities to experience the untouched beauty of the Karakoram.

Day 05: Trek to Bargancho Base Camp

We continue trekking through glacial moraines and alpine terrain before arriving at Bargancho Base Camp. Surrounded by magnificent peaks and glaciers, the base camp provides the perfect setting to prepare for the summit attempt. After camp setup, climbers can relax while enjoying incredible mountain views.

Day 06: Acclimatization & Climbing Preparation

- Activity Time: 3–4 Hours
A full acclimatization day is essential for adapting to the altitude. Our experienced climbing guides will conduct practical training sessions covering crampon techniques, ice axe use, rope handling, glacier travel, and safety procedures. Short acclimatization hikes around Base Camp help prepare the team for summit day.

Day 07: Summit Bargancho Peak (6050m) and Return to Base Camp

Today is the highlight of the expedition. We begin our summit push before dawn, climbing over snow slopes, rocky sections, and glacier terrain under the guidance of our experienced mountaineering team. Reaching the 6,050-meter summit rewards climbers with breathtaking panoramic views across the Karakoram Mountains and Baltistan valleys. After celebrating this remarkable achievement, we descend safely back to Base Camp.

Day 08: Trek from Base Camp to Arandu Village

After breakfast, we leave Base Camp and retrace our route through Wakhot towards Arandu Village. Descending through alpine landscapes allows us to appreciate the stunning scenery from a different perspective while celebrating a successful expedition.

Day 09: Drive from Arandu to Skardu

After saying goodbye to our porter team, we return by jeep to Skardu. Upon arrival, check into the hotel, enjoy a hot shower, and celebrate the successful completion of your Bargancho Peak Expedition.

Day 10: Fly to Islamabad

Transfer to Skardu Airport for the return flight to Islamabad. Weather permitting, enjoy one final aerial view of the spectacular Karakoram Range before arriving in Pakistan’s capital.

Note: If the flight is cancelled due to weather, we will begin the overland journey towards Chilas via the Karakoram Highway.
Day 11: Free Day in Islamabad

This day is reserved as a contingency in case of weather-related flight delays. If everything goes according to schedule, you are free to explore Islamabad, shop for souvenirs, or visit the city’s cultural landmarks before enjoying a farewell dinner with your expedition team.

Day 12: Departure from Islamabad
After breakfast, our representative will transfer you to Islamabad International Airport for your onward flight home.
